I'm not sure what to make of Lorraine J. Anderson. I've read a few of her stories now -- the borderline excellent Aboard the Quaker City: A Tour Aspace, the awkward Second-Hand Princess (The Second-Hand Princess Series), and the frankly terrible The Curious Case of A. Fly, Esquire. I'm still not sure what to make of her after finishing this story.

This story is . . . not bad. It's a cute Christmas tale of two ne'er-do-wells who find a magical red truck and . . . well, it's Christmas. I found it amusing, but I don't know if I'll remember it long.

I'm going to continue to read her work, mostly because I want to recapture the experience of reading "Aboard the Quaker City," a story that made me feel like I was potentially on to something.

Very well written, and fun. The other reviewer has said a bit about the plot and I don't like to write spoilers so I'll leave it at a very interesting, professional short story, well-developed characters.
~There’s really not much to say…it’s a Christmas story. It’s cute. It’s seasonal. It’s fun.
~Put your feet up, read it, and enjoy.
This is maybe a ten-minute read that, while not really funny, is cute in its own way. Just imagine two goofy metal heads with a tendency to say "bogus" and "man" encountering this tempting red joyride, a pimped out 4x4, gleaming and with the keys conveniently at the ready. Besides just its looks, this is no oridnary truck; it's kind of a benevolent Christine mixed with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Just where will this ride take these two guys? This very short story is a light read that provides a different take on a classic holiday legend. Even with that spin, this was only an okay read for me.
Two slackers, one with a foul mouth find what they believe to be a pimped out truck with the keys still in the ignition. They aren't thieves but find the ride to be too tempting not to borrow. This comfortable truck is no ordinary truck though, these guys are flying like you can't really do in a regular vehicle. When they push the buttons S & E on the dash their lives are going to take a change in ways they never could have imagined. A ten minute at most read. Previously I've read Goose by this author. I think that was a much better story than this one but if Red Truck is still free it's worth checking out.
